- How old were you when you set off on the world tour from your hometown Sierpc, small place en route from Warsaw to Torun?

Fifteen. That time was the first time in my life when I was going abroad, for the first time when I was flying by plane in my life, and at glance lonely, in addition to Japan for nearly two months. I don’t know who was more terrified – me, or my parents. My Mam couldn’t go with me those days. Every day she’s vice-headmaster in the Complex of Vocational Schools, she cares for 1800 pupils. Afterwards, a few times she went abroad with me, for example to Milan. I like to travel with my Mam, because it’s easier, more cheerfully and more safely.

- Did you earn your own, first money that time?

I signed my first contract in my life. But because I was under-age, my parents cared about my finances. Nowadays I’m collecting money for my own flat in Warsaw and for my future studies.

- For the present, you are not moving out from Sierpc, yet?

Just recently we had moved out from block of flats to our own bungalow with a small garden. We are finishing it off just now and adding an extra floor.

- Do you have share in it?

I’m giving my parents financial backing and I’m very glad that I’ve got this chance.

- Who do you take after?

I’ve got my green eyes and beauty after my mam, but figure and long legs after my dad. There is a fair difference in height between my parents. It’s about 25 centimeters. My resemblance to my mam can be seen at all photos. During last Fashion Week in New York, after Louis Vuitton show a lot of collective pictures were taken, when we sat down anywhere to chat together. Our collective photos have already appeared on the Internet.

- At your website www.annajagodzinska.com.

I swear, I have nothing in common with that. Some unknown admirer from Italy has created and has been updating it. I know nothing about him, though it’s pleasant he takes the trouble.

- Girls from the great magazine covers are often genuine works of art. You’ve been already at French and American magazine covers.

Certainly very much depends of the photographer and beautician, however I even do have natural color of my hairs. I wear contact lenses in my eyes, but colorless, nails are my own as well. In Poland they used to say “medium blonde” about my hair color, but just recently I have learnt that my hairs have strawberry tint. I won’t let them dye, because I know I would irretrievably lose my natural “balleyage” with many tints, created by nature.

- How many and what kind of languages had you known when you set off on the world tour?

I had only German language in my school so before my first trip I took up a few private English lessons. The fact that I mastered this language I’m indebted to practice, that is trips and work.
Though I had to communicate with photographers, designers, and beauticians. I persevere in learning. I’ve got an idea to enroll for extra language course, just now after arrival to New York.

- While collecting “Model of the year 2005″ award you thanked your parents for the fact that
they let…

… my dreams come true. For the fact, that despite I was a child they let me go, trusted me, although they were terribly terrified. Others only repeated: “That girl is too young”.

- Mam Iza, Dad Janusz. Do you call your parents by their first names?

No, never. I have always known what I can allow myself and what not. I knew the limits and limitations. Mam clearly gave me to understand when I exceeded any limits. When I accosted somebody, shouted or when I was just simply too noisy. Certainly It wasn’t’ trendy “without stress” upbringing what I’m really glad about.

- How do you cope with education if you travel without a break?

I’ve been always a good schoolgirl but it’s fact I always used to postpone everything for the last day, for the last moment. Nowadays I have individual course of teaching, every semester I take exams and pass subjects. When I come I contact with the teachers, get next portion of material to acquire. This school year I’m passing the high school exam. I’m afraid because it’s so-called “new high school exam” and my absence in school just only intensifies this stress. However I hope for the best. I must.

- Somebody has seen you, when somewhere abroad you were reading summary of course lectures with polish poetry, between shows.

That was during Fashion Week in Milan, because at that time I had to master romantic poetry period. I’ve got two sets of textbooks and readings so that I don’t have to carry books both ways. During castings, no matter where, in Florida, Miami or Paris, any studying isn’t possible because model must available all the time. However during show days, even then when there is a lot of shows it’s possible to study and read readings, because there are downtimes.

- What poetry do you like the most?

Kochanowski, Szymborska, Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska.

- Your mam disclosed me that you wrote poems once.

Some of the best, which were sent for the contest came out in the book with poems written by pupils from high school from our region.

- While you are abroad for so long, do you miss your mam, home?

When I’m not terribly tired or overwhelmed by impressions, I miss and think about return. I make plans. But why do we have telephones, computer, messenger, e-mails. Sometimes I chat through Gadu-Gadu with my mam for so long, that next day we are both sleepy. In summertime my brother Lukasz popped in to New York. He’s seven years older than me, he’s just graduated from economy, he trains handball. We are very similar, of course, besides that he isn’t attracted with modeling.
Two years ago I bought Christmas gift for my mam, Hector – little Yorkshire terrier and since that time he’s dominated all our conversations. It’s talking point number one! In addition he requires constant interest and he’s so jealous that he disturbs us when we talk on the phone. One unguarded moment and he can beat everything by jealousy.

- Nearest plans?

I’m going to New York on nearest Sunday, I’m coming back before Christmas, because nowhere Christmas means so much for me like in Poland. Just after New Year’s Eve, according to contract, I’m coming back to USA.
