Hello Riccardo Tisci, 

The fall 2006 collection creacted by Givenchy is just in and as a big but pleasent surprise that Russian-blonde brigade hasn’t taken over these creation. Librarian has gone but headmaster is in: reserve, cold, perfect till smallest details. Personality and id runs through it … perfectionist… kneecap high skirts, neatly tied blouse collars, symmetric counturs. Enough of black and white so playfulness away. Judgement: Tisci deserves kudos.

Orient Express 

In the wake of films like ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’, fashion has fallen in love with the Orient. Spring’s make-up looks take their cue from the season’s ready-to-wear shows and no show was ‘turning Japanese’ quicker than Donna Karan’s (left). Here the model’s faces were kept plain and pale with emphasis placed on the eyes. Slicks of eyeliner above, tapering to each end, were used to give mostly Western faces a distinctly Eastern appearance. 

La Vie en Rose 

If there’s one colour that defines the season’s lip look, it’s a rich rose, in the petal hues that slip between vivid crimson at Valentino and the deepest fuchsia pink at the Prada show (left). Both looks were created by ubiquitous make-up supremo Pat McGrath, who gives the bright lipped look a clean modern touch that takes away any vampy connotations. The eyes and face are kept pale, fresh and youthful looking so the lips can take the full focus. 

Mess It Up 

Alongside the slicked back styles that were the choice at many shows, the formality of Winter’s smart and lady-like hair seems to have been replaced by a relaxed new mood for the warm days ahead. The key to the look is an up-do but with a casual, care free aesthetic. At Marc by Marc Jacobs (left) it was all about a mussed-up, twisted ponytail that gathered tresses from the back of the head, leaving the front strands loose against the face 

While at Dries Van Noten’s geisha inspired show, hair was clipped up at the sides and back with a messy nonchalance but decorated with bright butterfly slides. The look is youthful, informal and simple to reproduce.

 

 

Like it or not …. Lanvin platform cone heels are extravagant enough and come in striking colours, but why not to ad a raisen to your daily outfits as it seems with these pieces of art nobody will go wrong but only turn people’s head backward.
